Objectives

By implementing the project, we primarily wanted to achieve an awareness of the roots of Slavic unity in the context of the common history and culture of the Slavic peoples. Furthermore, we wanted to consolidate the principles of democracy and European integrity in the students on the basis of common history within the framework of modern history. Our last goal was to better orient the student on the political scene, to recognize populist movements and their unrealistic promises. Last but not least, our goal was to support the students in their development of the English language and conversation.

Background

We are a primary school in the village of Lužec nad Vltavou, which has approximately 1450 inhabitants. Our school has a total of students who attend grades one through nine. We only have one class in each year. Our school is a dynamic school that is constantly developing. Over the past year, it has undergone significant modernization (lockers instead of changing rooms, interactive whiteboards in all classrooms and in the halls, facilities for language and ICT classrooms, modernly renovated library). Currently, our school teaches according to the ŠVP "Robinson Crusoe School" from 2007. In addition to the educational program, our school also provides extracurricular activities in the form of clubs, tutoring and interventions. By submitting a project within the Erasmus + program, we wanted to open up new possibilities not only for our pupils, but also for our school. We wanted to strengthen our skills in project management, gain new experience and knowledge in this area, make new friends and possibly establish further cooperation with schools across Europe and other new opportunities that will help us in further development.
