Countries: CZ · Grant: €7,132
Initial and continuous training for teachers, trainers and other education staff

Objectives

VIM needs to maintain the high quality of further vocational training it provides to pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff of schools and educational institutions, especially in the South Moravian Region. An essential condition for maintaining quality is monitoring legislative changes and current trends in the field of education and the ability to respond to the changing needs of schools. VIM employees are mainly further education methodologists and organisational and administrative staff who implement further education courses for teaching staff. These staff members need to continuously acquire new knowledge and competences to develop and innovate the continuing professional education courses for schools. This project therefore focused on the professional development of our staff through international mobility – staff were to be inspired abroad, gain new expertise and competences and bring new initiatives to their organisation to develop the continuing professional education provided by VIM.

Background

The Educational Institute for Moravia (VIM) is a contributory organization of the South Moravian Region, an educational institution for further education of pedagogical staff and a school service centre registered in the school register. The main activity of the VIM is further education of pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff of schools, consulting on issues of methodology and school management and coordination of support activities for schools and school facilities. VIM is an accredited institution in the further education of pedagogical staff system and offers over 500 education programmes accredited by the Ministry of Education and dozens of other programmes certified internally. One of the core tasks of VIM are education programmes providing qualification. Each year, approximately 9,000 participants complete our training activities. The status of VIM as a contributory organisation of the South Moravian Region and the high number of educational activities and trained pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff obliges us to provide the highest possible quality of education in the long term. This would not have been possible without the professional development of our staff, to which this project has made a significant contribution.
