Objectives

The goal of our organization is to connect practical experience and theoretical teaching at school as much as possible, so that our students succeed as best as possible in the subsequent career path. The issues of organic farming, alternative agriculture and local production are in great demand and it is always a very welcome possibility to experience what it would be like to become part of a family farm in another EU country. Demonstration of good practice, comparison of trends and independent activities are essential for the professional and personal development of our students and their subsequent application on the labor market. The goal of the project was to integrate our school into the European agricultural community, to actively use an international network to expand our students' experience in the field, and thereby increase their motivation to find their place in the labor market and know what I want to do in life. It helps in the outlook and in increasing the potential of vocational education and its attractiveness. Agriculture has long been one of the less supported areas, even though it provides the primary needs of all of us.

Background

We are a secondary vocational school of agriculture, we also offer services as a training center for adult education in the field of agriculture. The fields of agriculture, chemistry and natural sciences are taught here. Project activity has been part of the school's activities since 2008, and more than 850 people have participated in international activities during these years. We actively cooperate with the Opava School Farm and the TEVA company, where our students carry out part of their professional training. We have 2 apprenticeships - Gardener and Farmer and 4 high school diplomas - Agribusiness, Science Lyceum, Chemist Operator and Full-time Business. The activity of the higher vocational school was terminated. Our host organization is the family farm of Mrs. Eleni Andronikidu in Preveza, not only have our students come there for internships continuously since 2015, but Mrs. Eleni also goes to teach at our school as a practitioner, which makes the connection much clearer, more personal and more flexible.
