1) Introducing pupils to typical Cretan cuisine and local specialities Due to globalization, we wanted to introduce our pupils to typical Cretan cuisine and local specialities, to familiarise them with the management of restaurants, hotels, bakeries and patisseries. We saw the opportunity to work in such facilities as an extremely valuable experience for our students. 2) Improving the level of English language teaching and CLIL. Our intention was to extend CLIL methods into mainstream teaching of vocational and general education subjects. We wanted to streamline the use of modern technology in the classroom, incorporating blocks of English language teaching. We wanted to motivate English language teachers to use innovative didactic practices in teaching. 3) Acquiring students' linguistic and social competences We wanted to guide our pupils towards independence, work responsibility and to strengthen their cultural awareness. Cooperation in a work team and awareness of their relationship with their supervisor will also be an important element. We expected linguistic enhancement both in the area of spoken English and specialized vocabulary in the area of gastronomy.
