The aim of the project, supported by the 2022 Erasmus+ program call, was to enhance the international cooperation of the university with its current partners and to establish new partnerships with universities and other institutions accessible to both students and employees. VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO) is actively engaged in significant educational projects across Europe and globally and is a full member of the newly supported European University Alliance, U!REKA. Internationalization is a key priority for VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and is embedded in crucial strategic documents, including the VSB-TUO Strategic Plan 2021-2027. The Erasmus+ program, as one of the European Union's largest initiatives supporting the internationalization of education, significantly contributes to fulfilling this goal. At VSB-TUO, we recognize that true internationalization cannot be achieved without actively supporting students and staff to enhance their skills, language abilities, and competencies at partner universities or in private companies. This is a cornerstone of our internationalization strategy. In addition to promoting the international mobility of students and staff, VSB-TUO also seeks to engage in major educational projects worldwide as part of its internationalization efforts. The university is committed to developing strategic partnerships with academic and research institutions abroad. Given the high number of international students who study at VSB-TUO each year, we are highly aware of the challenges they face during the adaptation process. To support them, we ensure close cooperation between International Offices at the faculty and university levels, the International Contact Point (ICP), and student organizations like the Erasmus Student Network (ESN VSB-TUO). This collaboration creates a welcoming and supportive environment for foreign students and employees, and it extends to administrative and organizational backing during their mobility periods. The implementation of mobility projects enables students and staff to participate in various types of stays (SMS, SMP, STA, STT), during which they gain invaluable experience. International experience provides students with a significant advantage when entering the job market, and for staff, it presents opportunities for both personal and professional development. Establishing new contacts and exchanging knowledge is highly valued. Participants receive extensive administrative, organizational, and financial support for their stays abroad, which ensures that the experience has a meaningful impact on their growth. VSB-TUO continuously promotes mobility opportunities through events, the university website, printed materials, and publications like VSB-TUO Akademik, helping to engage and inspire more students and staff to participate.
