Objectives

NEWTON University (Vysoká škola NEWTON) has been involved in the Erasmus programme since 2005, a year after its establishment. NEWTON University is a private university in the Czech Republic. The university offers top quality education in Economics, Management and Psychology. Nearly 2500 students study at NEWTON University in Bachelor’s and Master‘s programmes. The university offers both full-time and distance education. Students can study at three campuses in Prague, Brno and Bratislava. NEWTON University uses the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Students can study in other European countries and the results of NEWTON University students and graduates are commonly recognized abroad. NEWTON University is a university for life. This means that its main aim is to connect theory with practice. For this reason, leading experts are regularly involved in teaching to provide students with practical experience. NEWTON University also has a number of distinguished academics with many years of experience. Students thus gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. NEWTON University strives to push and develop every year. One of the main pillars of the university's overall development is internationalization. NEWTON University has been striving for internationalization since the beginning of its existence. It is through its involvement in the Erasmus programme that NEWTON University is able to further develop and move forward. In particular, the involvement of students in long-term mobility, both study stays and practical internships, has contributed and continues to contribute to deepening and improving the internationalisation of the whole university environment. These internships are made possible thanks to the Erasmus programme. This programme also includes staff mobility, both for academics and for administrative and technical staff. Thanks to the involvement in the Erasmus programme, the competences of both students and staff have been increased and improved in professional, linguistic and personal terms. In line with its internationalization strategy, NEWTON University is succeeding in deepening existing partnerships with foreign universities. Regular cooperation and communication is maintained with partner universities. Apart from regular student and staff mobilities, partner universities are regularly contacted with mobility offers, informed about news concerning administrative steps etc. At the same time, the university is succeeding in establishing new inter-institutional agreements with new partners from European countries. NEWTON University strives to satisfy the interest of students and academic and non-academic staff and to establish further partnerships in line with the strategy of internationalization. In view of the internationalization strategy, which is one of NEWTON University's priorities, it is expected that NEWTON University's involvement in the Erasmus programme will lead to the following objectives: 1. Students, graduates and staff will gain practical experience of living abroad, learn to cope in the global world and thus shift and develop their potential and professional and personal growth. 2. Placement of graduates on a global scale, specifically in relation to the experience gained through the ERASMUS programme. 3. Increasing the language competences of students, graduates and staff is one of the important aspects related to the internationalization strategy. Thanks to Erasmus, participants will be better equipped linguistically, increase their competence in communication within the profession, in the context of cooperation between academics on projects, etc. 4. Establishing and developing new cooperation with foreign partners, finding new partners from EU countries. Thanks to a constantly expanding partner network, NEWTON University will be able to offer student and staff mobility in many European countries. In addition, some partners are expected to participate in other joint projects beyond the activities of the KA 131 project. 5. Deepening of existing cooperation, for example in the form of participation in international projects beyond the Erasmus programme. 6. Offering innovative forms of teaching on topical issues using online technologies - NEWTON University was able to implement the first Blended Intensive programme under this project. 7. Increasing the funds available to NEWTON University for further development of internationalization, promotion of the ERASMUS programme, use of modern technology, support for students to engage in international projects, etc. 8. Increasing the sense of European belonging among mobility participants.
