Objectives

The project aimed to contribute to INEX-SDA's vision and mission by organizing 6 activities for 194 participants. (Initially we applied for 178 mobilities from which 158 were approved while the amount of activities remained the same as in the application). All the changes and the reasons behind them are listed further in this final report. By implementing the six activities, we were able to contribute to fulfilling main objectives of the whole accreditation which are: 1. Personal and professional growth; 2. Civic understanding; 3. Capacity building for Youthwork; 4. Inclusion and equal opportunities; and 5. Intercultural learning. At the same time, all these objectives are in compliance with the INEX-SDA's vision (a society where people respect each other and where people are responsible in regards to the surrounding world) and mission (create opportunities for active participation in the society and to gain knowledge and experiences), therefore, the implemented activities strongly supported INEX-SDA´s daily work, what is also an important objective of the accreditation. More concretely, the project enabled us to keep creating opportunities for young people and to work on their personal and professional development. By participation in the activities using methods of non-formal education, participants were able to improve their skills such as communication, teamwork, active listening, leadership skills or taking initiative. Due to the international and inclusive aspect of all activities, participants were also working with their attitudes connected with mutual understanding, cultural awareness and expression, and competencies connected with building an inclusive society. Within the project, we were also able to improve the capacities of INEX-SDA and partner organizations on both national and international levels. Ensuring the ongoing development and improvement of youth work processes is key to providing high-quality opportunities for young people. Therefore, the project also focused on educating the staff of IVS organizations (and through that improving the work of the organizations) that implement a significant number of voluntary and educational activities in Europe (over 3000 European volunteering projects every year, so-called workcamps). Other than focus on youth workers and youth trainers competencies, we were also working on more strategic tangible outcomes, such as creation of educational session plans that can be further used and worked on improving structures and systems in the individual organizations and in the European and global networks. E.g. the development of the Volunteer Exchange guidelines and instructions on how to prepare quality project descriptions. The direct benefit of involving international partners from the networks gave us the possibility of evaluating the previous workcamp season and then, together using the new insights in structuring and planning the following one. In further sections of this final report, we will elaborate on what activities were connected to what specific objectives in more detail. By organizing activities with 37 partner organizations, we provided space for individuals to learn and practice personal and professional skills connected to youthwork. On the levels of the organizations, the project helped to increase the capacities of European Youth organizations by strengthening existing connections, laying a foundation for new partnerships and cooperation, by educating their staff and by providing space for mutual learning and working together. All of these mentioned were the initial objectives of the project. Overall, thanks to organizing various activities with 37 partner organizations we were able to strengthen the connection and cooperation between us as well as build up the new cooperation. Through that we were able to work on capacity building of organizations (including INEX-SDA) but also set up a strong base for future cooperation.
