In the Erasmus+ project “Check Your Source” we connected critical thinking and media literacy skills (checking sources of our ideas and information), as well as financial literacy (checking sources of our finances and managing them). While sharing results from our previous projects, we garnered interest from new organizations we had never collaborated with before. They found our methods and topics closely aligned with their needs and objectives. We decided to cooperate with these new partners and young organizations to disseminate the knowledge and experience we possessed on the topic among a wider array of organizations and countries. Despite our significant experience in conducting workshops on this topic, we had new ideas and activities we wanted to incorporate based on feedback from participants in our previous projects. 'Check Your Source' became the perfect amalgamation of new partners and fresh ideas on the topic, building upon our extensive experience and previous collaborations. NEEDS of youth workers in all partner organizations that we have researched when starting working on this project: - To gain knowledge and skills in media literacy; - To get practical competences in critical thinking; - To gain practical financial skills on budgeting and money management; - To get know-how on creating workshops for youth on the topic of the project; - To get space and expertise on creating new activities and projects to include more youth in Erasmus+ opportunities. The objectives of the project were based on the needs identified. We did our best to make this project useful, beneficial and impactful for participants and participating organizations; our objectives were the following: - To develop youth workers’ competences on media literacy through interactive exercises; - To enhance the ability of participants to think critically by introducing practical tools; - To simulate a life-long financial journey and gain important skills in terms of financial literacy; - To experiment and develop new techniques and methods in teaching above mentioned topics; - To encourage participants to include the methods and tools in their daily life and their work with youth.
