Objectives

“Say, Act: Never This Again! - Tackling Mental Health” aimed to offer to youth workers, social workers and educators an engaging and creative platform to tackle the issue of mental health among youth by exploring a number of tools and methodologies based on performative arts and personal narratives (storytelling, playback theatre and stand-up comedy). The project had the following objectives. Firstly, it explored the concept of "transformational storytelling", how to use storytelling as a tool for innovation to change and self-development. Secondly, it focused on understanding how storytelling, playback theatre and stand-up comedy skills can be used as creative methods to let youth express and address their struggles related to mental health, such as loneliness and depression. Thirdly, it provided an opportunity for youth workers to work on their readiness to act using the competences acquired during the project as well as confidence to apply them. Fourthly, we wanted participants to develop an action plan to engage their youth in their organisation's context as well as the regional and European level. Finally, the participants implemented the lessons learned and action plans in the partner organisations and virtually shared and evaluated the activities organised.
