The aim of the project was to strengthen the university’s international cooperation with existing partners and establish new ones with universities and other institutions accessible to both students and staff. Strategic cooperation with foreign academic and research institutions enhances the prestige of VSB-TUO on a European scale, enables international benchmarking, and contributes to the university’s growth, reputation, and the development of its students and employees. Without the financial support provided by this project, many mobilities would not have been feasible, and the professional as well as personal development of participants would not have reached the level now commonly associated with such stays abroad. This applies even more to cooperation with institutions from other continents and universities from less developed countries. The project also aimed to expand mobility opportunities for domestic doctoral students, for whom a stay abroad is a compulsory part of their studies. The predominance of incoming student mobilities further contributed to the internationalisation of the university and laid the foundation for joint study programmes or at least for stimulating foreign students’ interest in full study programmes.
