Background

Our school attended by 428 pupils (16 girls) provides a complete secondary vocational education in two fields Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. State Technical Riga School has over 2000 students and is the largest vocational secondary school in Latvia. We set the aims: 1. Increasing students' employability in the labour market. The long-term decreasing demand of employers for graduates in the field of engineering resulted in the need to change the composition of the already taught disciplines - Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the lead partner school. In response to this situation, but also because we perceive the field of environmental protection as an important part and trend of modern education, a new course of study ELECTROMOBILITY was opened. A need to revise the existing way of teaching into professional blocks and to modernize the educational content in general. 3. In particular, the partner school addressed the need to link knowledge and skills from several areas (language, vocational subjects, practice) into a comprehensive whole.4. Both partners wanted to move forward in the internationalisation of the school and strengthen their European dimension.
