South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences has been participating in the ERASMUS+ programme and its predecessors for more than 30 years. It considers the programme to be an excellent opportunity to offer students as well as its staff the experience of a stay abroad and, by participating in the programme, pursues the goal of strengthening the internationality of studies and teaching at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences as a whole. At the same time, the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences sees it as an important goal to initiate strategic partnerships across its campuses and departments in order to create synergy effects and expand successful initiatives. Added values include, for example, being able to recruit larger student cohorts and offer improved support structures as well as striving for reliable cooperation in win-win partnerships. In addition to funding individual mobility, the Erasmus+ programme offers a wide range of project lines that promote networking between universities and with companies. The Erasmus+ key action Mobility for Individuals can support this goal through intensive support for selected partner universities, e.g. through teaching mobility that is firmly planned into the course of study at the partner universities.
