Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences aims to provide all members of our community (students, lecturers, staff) with intercultural experience – abroad and on campus. These goals have been fixed in our strategy for internationalization 2030. One of the main goals of our strategy is increasing the number of participants in international mobility. In order to increase student mobility (besides information measures), the implementation of optional mobility periods shall make it easier to spend a term abroad. Clear successes are already visible in some study programmes, the efforts will be continued. Since the start of the project 2021/22 new opportunities are offered by the Blended Intensive Programmes which we consider as an appropriate tool to allow students a first step towards mobility in order to motivate some of them for long-term mobility. Experience so far has confirmed this assumption. Staff mobility is also to be expanded for all categories of staff as an opened mindset an intercultural experience are basic for an international and open-minded university. The Erasmus programme is a key tool to achieve these goals because it offers students, teaching and administrative staff a readily accessible way to mobility
