Objectives

Participation in the Erasmus program enables Hochschule Geisenheim University (HGU) to advance its internationalization goals, which focus on several key areas: - Enhancing International Competitiveness and Visibility: By engaging in international programs, HGU aims to strengthen its position globally and attract young talent to the university. - Improving Quality of Research, Teaching, and Learning: The university seeks to elevate the standards of its educational offerings, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the global labor market. - Generating Societal Benefits: Through participation in the Erasmus program, HGU aims to foster innovative ideas and promote values such as interculturalism, language diversity, and solidarity within society. Specifically, the Erasmus program helps HGU achieve critical objectives of its internationalization strategy, including: - Increased Participation in International Projects and Networks: HGU aims to engage more actively in collaborative European projects, expanding its global reach and influence. - Enhanced Student Mobility: The university is committed to improving opportunities for student mobility—both for studies and internships—especially in degree programs that have historically seen lower levels of mobility. Additionally, there is a focus on promoting staff mobility to enrich the academic environment. - Internationalization at Home: HGU strives to incorporate international, linguistic, and intercultural elements into its teaching and learning processes. This approach ensures that all students, regardless of whether they study abroad, benefit from a globally-oriented education. - Fostering a Culture of Welcome and Diversity: The university seeks to create an inclusive environment that celebrates cultural diversity among its members and engages the broader community. This cultural openness enriches the university experience for everyone involved. Overall, the Erasmus program is integral to HGU’s mission to enhance its international profile, improve educational quality, and contribute positively to society.
