Leipzig University (UL) sees itself as a European university with global connections. The Erasmus+ project aims to shape the international dimension in studies and teaching, but also in research at UL. UL's quantitative goal is to support around 1000 Erasmus+ stays abroad each year. As a partner in a European university alliance, it aims to ensure that 50% of students benefit from the Erasmus+ program, especially through guest lecturers. All activities that are eligible for funding in the Erasmus+ programme are relevant and shall be offered, long-term mobility for studies, internships, doctorates, but also short-term mobility in mixed teaching-learning formats, including Blended Intensive Programs (BIP), as well as teaching and training stays with a focus on strategic university partners and the European university alliance Arqus. The international components in the curriculum, such as guest teaching, mobility windows, foreign language components in the curriculum, digital teaching/learning formats, global subject perspectives and a high recognition rate for achievements abroad are considered indicators of the successful impact of the Erasmus+ program. The Erasmus agreements concluded with 300 partner universities are intended to provide the basis for university-wide internationalization.
