Trier University sees internationalisation as a continuous process and as a cross-sectional task that affects teaching, research and administration. We want to enable as many students as possible at every level of education to gain international and intercultural experience, regardless of their economic, family and personal circumstances. Longer-term study-related stays abroad in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes play a central role in this. The involvement of foreign lecturers in teaching and the teaching experience of Trier lecturers abroad as well as foreign-language study programmes and courses are intended to make the range of courses more diverse and prepare students for working in an international or intercultural working environment. In order to effectively support the internationalisation process in research and teaching, Trier University promotes the acquisition of foreign language and subject-specific skills and intercultural awareness among its administrative and technical staff. A further aim is to make internationalisation sustainable and inclusive.
