The ERASMUS program forms the basis for the further expansion of mobility and international relations at Kiel University (CAU). Since the introduction of ERASMUS at CAU in 1995, the program has been the engine and catalyst for modernization at the university. Many structural changes here can be attributed to the ERASMUS program. For the future, mobility in all areas (key action 1,2,3) is to be further expanded qualitatively and quantitatively with the help of ERASMUS. At the same time, the potential of particularly intensive connections in the European, but also in the international area, is to be used to further expand individual cooperations in a targeted manner to create a network of European universities for cross-border cooperation (,,European Universities"). The ERASMUS program generation 2021-27 plays a key role in the further internationalization of universities in Europe. All program key actions serve to strengthen the European Higher Education Area. Against the backdrop of interstate conflicts, exchange programs such as Erasmus+ and a strong European education area can help to support understanding between societies.
