Objectives

TUM promotes globalization and international scientific exchange. The internationalization of TUM is not an isolated process, but a decisive element of TUM's current and future strategy. Accordingly, this strategy encompasses the most diverse target groups at TUM, from students to postgraduates, scientists, scholarship holders and science managers. The Erasmus+ program plays a key role in TUM's overall strategy. Through the Erasmus+ program, the TUM Global and Alumni Office offers numerous opportunities for cooperation and networking across Europe and supports students, as well as TUM scientists and employees, in gaining international experience. With more than 23,000 international students, TUM is a very internationally oriented university. Besides degree-seeking international students, about 1500 exchange students, including nearly 1000 Erasmus + students, also join TUM for one or two semesters each year. This diversity contributes to a tolerant, open relationship among international and domestic students, scientists and staff at TUM.
