As our name suggests, at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences (BI), we value international and intercultural exchange highly. It is integral to our educational model that our students are prepared for the globalized world into which they will graduate, and that our staff are at home in that world. By implementing the KA103 project, we wanted to: • Support our students and staff to experience new educational and professional cultures, thereby developing their intercultural competency and international networks. • Learn from the insights gained by our students and staff through their experience of international mobility, and implement best practices. • To make international mobility more attractive to staff and students going forward by enhancing our international network, in particular by increasing our number of English-speaking partners, and increasing our number of partners, particularly in the field of Architecture. We also wanted to continue raising awareness of Germany as an attractive destination for work and study by hosting incoming staff and students, and to benefit from the outside perspective these staff and students could bring to our working practices and institutional culture.
