Objectives

The overarching goal of the Erasmus+ project 2022-2024 was to offer all members of the University of Potsdam inclusive access to the programme and thus enable as many students, staff and lecturers as possible to gain relevant experience abroad. More than 500 Erasmus+ collaborations with more than 300 partners within the programme countries serve to achieve this goal. Students were to acquire both academic and intercultural competences and improve their language skills. Students' experiences abroad ought to contribute to strengthening European values and a European identity and consolidate international cohesion among young people. At the same time, the skills acquired abroad were to promote students' employability. In the area of teaching, the focus is on the exchange of teaching/learning methods and the internationalisation of curricula, increasingly also via blended and virtual formats. In addition, they served as multipliers for study-related experiences abroad. In order to promote internationalisation at home and create an attractive and supportive environment for international academics and students, the University of Potsdam is pursuing the goal of internationalising and digitalising its administrative staff and processes. STT mobilities are an essential component of this, particularly through learning innovative approaches, exchanging best practice examples with colleagues within Europe and improving English language skills. These goals are also reflected in the internationalisation strategy of the University of Potsdam (UP), making the Erasmus+ programme an important instrument in its implementation.
