LEOSACHSEN intended to promote the international mobility of Saxon students and offer them the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in an international context. This should strengthen their intercultural skills, improve their language skills and increase their employability on the global labour market. We also wanted to promote the exchange of expertise and best practices through networking with foreign companies and institutions. This should benefit both the participating students and the partner companies and facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology. Last but not least, we aimed to strengthen the international reputation of Saxon universities and increase the attractiveness of local degree programmes by giving our students practical, international experience. As the Saxon Erasmus+ consortium, this has been particularly successful, as due to limited capacities it can be assumed that smaller and medium-sized universities do not have the resources available for internships abroad and possibly staff mobility and would therefore not be able to offer any programmes at all.
