Bergische University Wuppertal is highly committed to promoting student mobility across all study cycles, including Bachelor's, Master's and PhD programs, as well as staff mobility. As part of the 2022 project, student mobility was further strengthened, particularly following the easing of pandemic-related restrictions. An increase in student mobility, especially for study purposes, was observed. The University of Wuppertal continuously strives to expand its international partner network to enable as many students as possible to study or complete a traineeship in their preferred country. Students receive extensive support from the International Office as well as from faculty coordinators at the various faculties. Special emphasis is placed on the quality of mobility measures, including the recognition of academic achievements completed abroad, which follows established procedures. Furthermore, in line with the university's commitment to equal opportunities, special attention is given to supporting students with specific needs. Information on this is requested during the application process for an Erasmus+ placement to ensure optimal support. For incoming students, the International Center offers furnished student apartments in the local student union's dormitories and promotes language skills at the university's own language teaching institute.
