Objectives

For the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, the Erasmus+ programme is the platform through which most internationalisation activities in Europe are carried out. Erasmus+ is an integral part of our own internationalisation efforts and has become an integral part of everyday university life. A wide range of attractive international exchange and double degree opportunities at partner universities worldwide is indispensable for the KU in competition with universities at home and abroad. It is important to send our own students, lecturers and staff to attractive partner universities around the world and to facilitate international exchange and intercultural encounters ‘at home’ by bringing students and staff together with exchange students and colleagues from partner universities on our own campus. The opportunity for students to gain international work experience as part of Erasmus+-funded internships abroad and thus also gain international experience outside of university life is also an essential part of the KU's international orientation. The programme objectives were achieved despite numerous challenges.
