KA171 is a central component of the international strategies of all participating institutions. The aim of the project was to implement mobility activities in a compliant and efficient manner while strengthening institutional development and networking based on the project content (teaching, European studies, theology, doctoral programme in peace ethics, North-South cooperation). The mobility activities were intended to provide students and staff with sustainable international learning experiences and contribute to strategic cooperation based on international strategies. External factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to restrictive measures in Germany until spring 2023 (e.g. hesitant mobility behaviour in Albania and South Africa), Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine (suspension of cooperation with pro-Russian universities from the 2022 autumn semester) and the escalation of the Middle East conflict (since October 2023) had a restrictive effect. In 2024, mobility formats were adapted to the changed conditions (e.g. short-term PhD in South Africa) so that funds could be used efficiently and the internationalisation goals of all participating universities could continue to be supported.
