Objectives

The Erasmus+ KA171 project covered the countries of Israel (Tel Aviv University (TAU), University of Haifa (UH), and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI)) and the Russian Federation (National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE)). Both countries are priority countries and partner universities of the University of Potsdam (UP) in accordance with its internationalisation strategy. The main focus was on subject-specific exchange, particularly with faculties that have established joint study/Cotutelle programmes. The only exception was the project with the strategic partner university Tel Aviv University, with which the UP cooperates on the level of research-supporting areas. For the study programmes "Ashkenazi Studies/Jewish History and Culture in Central and Eastern Europe" (both with UH) and "Interdisciplinary Russian Studies" (with HSE), the promotion of mobility is of essential importance. Through this, a subject-specific stay abroad with complementary study contents to that of the content at the home university can be realised. Mobility abroad contributes to the achievement of study goals, qualification for the labour market, and international networking of participants.
