The internationalization of study and teaching, the practical relevance of education, and the impact on the social environment were the project's central focus across countries and disciplines. At HSD, the Departments of Mechanical and Process Engineering and Design were involved. The Center for Innovative Energy Systems developed practice-oriented teaching modules in collaboration with the four partner institutions. The training of engineers in the resource-efficient and effective use of solar and biomass energy will, in the medium term, contribute to improving the energy supply for the population. The research unit "Life Cycle Management" is working with South African universities to develop concepts for establishing sustainable entrepreneurship, thereby contributing to improved employability. Despite the Hamas attack, the project with the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design helped bring students together to work creatively in multicultural contexts and to develop new formats. The exchange with students from Ghana, South Africa, and Israel challenged and strengthened the intercultural competencies of students and lecturers at HSD.
