One of the central objectives of the University of Siegen is to enhance its national and international visibility in research and teaching, in line with its mission statement “Shaping a human future”. In this context, the KA171 sub-projects make an important contribution to the implementation of the university’s internationalisation strategy. Mobilities with geographically diverse partner countries are a key instrument in enabling certain groups of students to undertake study periods abroad that would not otherwise be feasible without financial support. Within the framework of this project, the University of Siegen was pleased to host a significant number of incoming students in the humanities, social sciences and engineering. The funding served both to deepen and expand existing partnerships and, looking ahead, to establish new cooperation objectives. In particular, student exchanges have the potential to generate a lasting impact on participants’ educational trajectories and professional careers. Moreover, the culturally diverse incoming participants under KA171 made a valuable contribution to internationalisation@home at Siegen.
