Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (CUAS) perceives itself as an internationally oriented university that actively promotes intercultural exchange and learning. This commitment is reflected in the university’s internationalisation strategy, which focuses, among other things, on international partnerships, international students and international studies. Therefore Erasmus actions are an important pillar for achieving the aforementioned strategic goals. Internationalisation is also one of the key strategic priorities for the other participating institution, Ilia State University (ISU). At the core of internationalisation activities is the academic exchange of students and staff. As ISU already had experience with ICM projects, and a partnership as well as student interest in exchange existed, participation in this project was considered enriching by both universities. The ICM project focused on strengthening the existing relations between the social science departments of the two universities. Further objectives included the exploration of new opportunities for cooperation as well as the promotion of „ Internationalisation @ Home“.
