The project aimed to deepen strategic international partnerships and foster mutual understanding through targeted mobility with institutions in Georgia, Israel, and the USA. The University of Bonn (UBo) sought to enhance internationalization, offer intercultural academic experiences, and expand access to quality education and research. Goals included strengthening expertise in economics, global health, and evolutionary biology while promoting diversity and excellence. The initiative aligned with UBo’s strategy and regional goals of partners, supporting both personal development and institutional capacity-building. Georgia’s transformation requires greater understanding of Western models in economics, health, and science. Building on long-standing collaboration between UBo and Ilia State University, through teaching visits, joint research, and student supervision, the KA171 program supports continued engagement in the Caucasus, a biodiversity hotspot of geopolitical importance. A new KA171 partnership with Yerevan State University began in 2024. In Israel, UBo’s Economics Department deepened ties with Hebrew University and Tel Aviv University, sustaining KA107 exchanges and advancing joint research in Microeconomic Theory.
