The University of Kassel views itself as a European university with an international focus and networks around the world. Internationalisation plays a central role in both courses and teaching, but also in research and in the transfer of knowledge. The university laid down the principles for this in its first internationalisation concept as early as 2002 and has continuously pursued and introduced the goals of Europeanisation and internationalisation in its programmes at all levels. The fifth phase for further internationalisation was launched in 2021, highlighting the commitment to internationalisation. The Erasmus+ KA171 programme plays a key role in promoting and supporting mobility with a focus on incoming students to Kassel and staff exchange in both directions as well as on strengthening and expanding existing partnerships and newer cooperations. It also allows us to present our university as well as Germany and the EU in general as an attractive destination for studies, teaching and research for participants and talent from all over the world. The programme also enables us to further inclusion and to learn from and through exchanges on all levels, from students to professors.
