In its internationalisation strategy for the period 2018–2025, Kehl University of Applied Sciences pursued the goal of advancing its internationalisation and modernisation in three strategic fields of action: the development of intercultural competences among all university groups, cooperation with foreign universities in teaching and research, as well as the establishment of transparent administrative structures and the promotion of development cooperation. These objectives were to be implemented in line with the Erasmus+ University Charter through various clusters of measures and cross-cutting activities, in particular by promoting the mobility of students and university staff, establishing strategic partnerships, and expanding cross-border networks. A key rationale behind the mobility projects planned with partner universities in Ethiopia, South Africa, Senegal, and Niger was to support the development of efficient and transparent administrative structures in transformation states and developing countries. The focus was on the training and further qualification of professionals in the field of development cooperation in Africa and Europe, with particular emphasis on administrative management.
