A culture has been established at our school that supports our international projects and partnerships and enables their expansion. The planning, implementation and organization of our school internships as well as our international contacts has so far been the responsibility of individual colleagues. This is a very heavy burden. Out of responsibility for maintaining the health of our colleagues, it was therefore necessary to significantly expand the number of teachers involved. Teachers who teach in the vocational school are hardly ever deployed in the respective technical schools and the FOS/BOS and vice versa. Therefore, it was necessary to involve a relatively large number of teachers so that colleagues from each of our schools received the appropriate training. Furthermore, the aim was not only to develop language skills, but also to impart intercultural competencies. The project was designed to enable teachers to gain a valuable broadening of horizons on a personal level, but also on a cultural level. (see also Results: What were the results of your project).
The combination of theory and practice is not only a top priority at our vocational high school, but especially at our vocational school as part of the dual vocational training and the technical schools. This is enriched by the promotion of tolerance and empathy within the framework of study trips and internship exchange relationships. Intercultural skills are also taught within the framework of UNESCO school projects. Furthermore, we record the current and forecast qualification needs of trainees and teachers in regular exchanges with companies and chambers. The project enabled us to make progress in the points just mentioned and to achieve our goals.
