The primary goals of the project were, on the one hand, to promote independence and the ability to selfreflect, as well as the associated professionalization in terms of professional workimg attitude, and on the other hand, it was about acquiring skills in the area of interculturality. The learners should orient themselves in the new work context, get to know and accept the different working methods and structures, and also expand their language skills and their knowledge of Madrid and life in Spain in everyday life.
The project is designed for aspiring educators (+ high school diploma). The idea is that the learners can complete their 4-week internship in their second school year in Madrid in comparable institutions instead of in Herne, as there they will acquire and expand skills in the areas of interculturality, independence and also in the area of subject matter skills that are particularly crucial for educators. Since our student body is generally socially disadvantaged, it is a special opportunity for the learners that they would not be able to take advantage of without the support of the school and Erasmus.
