Mainly we sent our modern language teachers to official European training courses. But we also wanted to offer opportunities to teach at our partner schools. In essence we offered our participants "Teaching Observations" or "Job-Shadowings" at our partner schools and even taught at our partner colleges. We learned from our partners what other / new processes we could take home and adapt. But we were also interested in finding and adapting new structures and even introduced new training courses. By doing so, we used the skills of our participants to fullfill our guidelines: "Our VISON was and still is: We are THE authority of competence in our region and enable qualifications for life and work. Our MISSION was and is: We shape an education that transports key competences for an ever-changing working life. That means: We demand from our students to work on their competences and also promote our students adequately and individually." Well-trained staff are motivated to teach (very well) and also motivate their students to partake in our European projects. Therefore, we promote the will to be mobile in working life, since our students need to move to places with more opportunity. This sums up our main objectives.
Our project "BBZ Schleswig goes European School - realizing new educational potentials" was supposed to convey the "European Idea" to our students. As an institution in a more and more volatile appearing society we must hold on to the values of the European Union as a multiplier. Stability, reliability and taking responsabilty for partners are the core values and ideas to teach. Who else but us as a regional power house of vocational training may be able to make those fundamental values accessible to our adolscents? It was our ambition within teacher trainings to broaden our horizons and take the chance to bring Europe closer to those who cannot imagine Europe to be close. Without coordinated trainings there was a danger of sticking to theory which may drag the learners mentally further away from the exciting idea of Europe. Nowadays those youngsters who explore Europe on their own are the clear minority as the families have got other priorities. It is OUR duty to have the European influence on the young people! The main focus of our planned activities was on: Teach and Learn Foreign Languages: Sending out language teachers to the places, where the language is spoken.
