The pupils acquired new qualifications, were able to expand their intercultural and linguistic skills and acquire and develop social skills. Background

The vocational schools Fredenberg in Salzgitter have a predominantly technical profile, which is characterized by the five large companies (VW, Salzgitter Stahl, MAN, Bosch and Alstom) in Salzgitter. In addition to the technical professions, the BBS currently offers 2,300 students a wide range of subject areas, including food crafts, personal care, home economics, nursing and social pedagogy. The first school partnership dates back to 1994. Since 1995, regular exchanges have been held with institutions in other European countries. We successfully completed the last Leonardo project in 2014 and worked with Tandem and the German-Russian Youth Exchange Foundation for many years. We have been submitting Erasmus+ applications since 2015. The coronavirus pandemic brought these activities to a standstill, which is why we tried to reactivate existing contacts by applying for this short-term project. The school has a 10-member steering group for European activities that meets monthly. This group of people takes care of all exchanges to other European countries and the implementation of European topics in everyday school life.
