In order to be able to meet the challenges described above in the development of teaching in didactic and methodological terms, a better understanding of brain-friendly teaching and learning should be communicated among the teaching staff. This expanded and in part new knowledge should be incorporated into the school curriculum and school organisational processes. In addition, the intercultural competences of colleagues and international contacts should be expanded.
BBS Verden is a combined vocational school with around 3100 pupils and trainees. The KAM-BBS core task model has been in place at vocational schools in Niedersachsen since 2011. The quality area B, Designing educational programs, occupies a central position in this. Against the background of current social developments and the constantly changing methodological possibilities due to the increasing digitalisation of teaching, the core tasks B8 - Developing individual skills, B9 - Supporting underachievers and B10 - Supporting high achievers, play a key role in quality area B. Our project should help to focus more on the learner when planning lessons and to plan according to the needs and individual abilities of the learners. The aim is to demonstrate ways of organizing activity-oriented lessons with the support of digital media in a way that is appropriate to the target group, i.e. in this case brain-friendly.
