Project AID4EVE aims to facilitate digital transformation in VET by creating a DIGITAL TRAINING PLATFORM (DTP) for developing Universal Skills of VET students, which will contribute towards enhancing employability of VET trainees by developing key competences aligned to job market needs. Simultaneously the digital training content will contribute towards digital transformation in VET by further developing digital competence and didactical readiness of VET trainers in contemporary digital era. In other words there are 4 key objectives. • Facilitate the digital transformation of the VET education ecosystem by integrating a cost-effective remedy • Increase the employability of VET trainees by upskilling them with key competences in universal skills aligned with job-market needs • Create a Digital Training Platform which can be used for classroom teaching, virtual teaching, and hybrid teaching. • Improve the digital skills and innovative teaching methods of VET trainers so that they can better prepare their students for the digital workplace.
The percentages of young people aged 15-24 year olds are 10.4% in Austria; 10% in Germany and 16% in Turkey. The COVID 19 crisis has hit young people harder in the labour market they are over-represented in industries and sectors that were most affected by the crisis, and are more likely to work on temporary contracts, exposing them to a higher risk of job loss. According to the OECD figures, the youth unemployment rate in Austria is 9.4%; in Germany 5.75% and in Turkey 19%. Therefore AID4EVE partners in these countries felt motivated to develop a complementary competence training program that makes a difference in young VET trainees' employment journeys. The pandemic has forced VET students to take on more leadership responsibilities, and particularly challenging work environments need the capacity for greater emotional intelligence. Moreover, the digitalisation at a rapid pace during lockdown altered didactical considerations. To respond effectively, VET instructors at T-VET and Business VET institutions need a more comprehensive and sophisticated set of digital expertise than in the past.
