The Soul Mate project aimed to raise awareness of mental health in the workplace, specifically for people with disabilities, and to provide practical, accessible educational resources for diverse target groups. At its core, the project sought to empower people with disabilities, promote self-determination, and offer accessible information on how to cope with psychological stress. At the same time, it aimed to support and raise awareness among employers, professionals, and multipliers to help create inclusive and health-promoting work environments. Soul Mate intended to share knowledge, foster dialogue, and initiate long-term change—through digital tutorials, a comprehensive guidebook, a training concept, and the development of a virtual community. All resources were deliberately designed to be low-threshold, multilingual, and accessible in a range of inclusive formats to ensure broad outreach and lasting impact.
The Soul Mate project was launched to highlight the issue of mental health among people with disabilities in the workplace. In many European countries, there is a lack of accessible and target group-oriented educational resources on this topic. Employers, professionals, and multipliers also need more knowledge about inclusive work structures and how to address psychological stress. Soul Mate has filled this gap by developing easy-to-understand, multilingual, and accessible learning materials—available in sign language, plain language, with subtitles and transcripts—and all free of charge. The project produced a comprehensive guidebook offering in-depth knowledge, as well as an inclusive learning platform featuring accessible video tutorials on the mental health of people with disabilities in the workplace. This was further complemented by the creation of a virtual community that fosters exchange among the various target groups.
