Our 3 goals were. - To prepare for a multi-year Erasmus+ project and to gain initial experience of working with Erasmus+ through a short-term project, as well as to create a positive atmosphere among the staff to be achieved in relation to Erasmus+ - The advancement of digitalization, also by getting to know new teaching methods. - Re-establishing international relations/strengthening the sense of Europe on the one hand through individual exchanges, but also through group mobility, i.e. student exchanges.
Comenius Gymnasium has also had to make massive changes due to the Coronavirus pandemic. On the one hand, many international contacts were lost or fell asleep and had to be reactivated. On the other hand, distance learning presented completely new challenges that had to be overcome to the entire school family, teachers, students and parents. These challenges are still noticeable today and have had a lasting impact on everyday school life. Furthermore, the school landscape in Deggendorf has changed so that Comenius Gymnasium must also continue to develop in order to maintain or even increase student numbers in the future. This is a challenge that teachers, school management and the parents' council are all aware of. The implementation of an Erasmus project in particular is a unique selling point that the other (grammar) schools in the district do not have.
