The focus of our Erasmus+ project "Bike into the future" is on contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular by contributing to a climate-neutral form of transportation in the context of the mobility transition, by strengthening global citizenship education and by promoting the participants' foreign language skills.
The overarching goals of our school are comprehensive education in the spirit of the polymath Blaise Pascal (1623 - 1662) and peaceful coexistence in a pluralistic society in the spirit of UNESCO. We see the 2030 Agenda with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals as an important basis for both educational goals and social coexistence. Pascal-Gymnasium was founded in 1971/72 as a secondary school for modern languages and mathematics and science. These focal points are still important today. In line with Blaise Pascal's holistic and universal approach, Pascal-Gymnasium has been a collaborating UNESCO project school since 2011 and has even been a recognized UNESCO project school since 2019, meaning that it has a special focus on promoting a culture of peace. The Pascal-Gymnasium offers students in the bilingual branch subject lessons in English. Through our Erasmus+ project "Bike into the future", we contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
