The primary objective of the youth exchange "Take the Lead - Speak UP!" was to provide young people, especially those with fewer opportunities and volunteers actively engaged in their communities, with the opportunity to develop and strengthen the competencies necessary for their professional and personal growth. The project aimed to enhance their teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict management skills through participant-to-participant interactions. The specific objectives of the project were: Develop and strengthen the competencies of the participants of the youth exchange by providing opportunities to enhance the set of competencies needed for self- and professional development, linked to their professional profiles. This includes getting to know new tools, methods, and techniques that they can implement in their work and activities with young people, including those with fewer opportunities. The project aimed to support participants in becoming more confident in their work with young people and with the teams they work with, as well as developing skills in giving and receiving feedback, problem-solving, and clear communication in challenging situations. Increase the ability to address the needs of participants’ target groups by providing participants an opportunity to strengthen their abilities to identify and address the needs of their local communities. This includes implementing activities that meet the needs and interests of young people and lead to their empowerment. Additionally, participants would get to know new tools to engage young people in innovative ways and encourage them to become active citizens. Increase the capacity of participants to operate at local/international levels and apply innovative programs and activities that are in line with the needs and interests of their target groups. Through the youth exchange, participants would also strengthen their knowledge of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps. They would have the possibility to learn new tools, techniques, and methods that they can apply in their future work to engage young people from their communities. The project aimed to empower participants to create an impact in their local environment by designing new community projects. Overall, the project sought to align with the aims and objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme guide for 2022, and the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027, with a priority on inclusion and diversity, thereby developing skills and attitudes for young people.
