The development of a very technological-centered lifestyle and its impact on our society has become a reality and a very crucial argument of debate. Technologies and social media are deeply present and integrated into our daily lives at such a level that is almost impossible to imagine a reality without them. The growing presence of these tools had and has several consequences on our way of living personal and interpersonal interactions. Indeed, nowadays we are witnessing isolation among people but also among people and nature. These consequences have been noticed by observing the number of disorders, illnesses and behavioral symptoms that are arising at a growing pace in the population. This is especially true among youngsters who have been growing up and moving in a world where such technologies and online contexts were already very normalized, also with the presence of problematic dynamics such as hate speech and cyberbullysm. Stress, anxiety, addictions, depressions, are just some of the problems that are suffered every year by more people. Also, another impact of technology is on how sedentary our habits are and is connected to physical health issues. Dreaming OPEnly wants to contribute to the development of a society based on conscious thinking, self and collective care, sustainable relationships among humans and with the planet. #DisconnectToReconnect2 was born as a part of our efforts to address these issues. The aim of the project was to provide practical tools and knowledge to promote a more conscious and sustainable use of technology, and to encourage self-care and healthy interpersonal relationships. We also wanted to propose an experience that could remind the importance of taking breaks from technology and reconnecting with nature and traditional practices to foster a more balanced lifestyle. From the creation of an intentional space prepared to experiment technological disconnection, we fostered open debates and discussions, raised awareness and generated new ideas on how to tackle the challenges posed by the constant presence of technology in our lives. Furthermore, the project aimed at the creation of a final decalogue summarizing the useful contents that arose after the processes of discussion. That is, a decalogue of good practices related to the use of technology and the navigation of technological-based world. The main objectives of DTR2 were: 1. To make a temporary technological disconnection to move away from the pernicious uses of technology and be able to have a wider overview of the opportunities and threats that it represents 2. To redefine the relationship that participants have with technologies as virtual users, to generate a healthier way of using these new tools 3. To develop, after a process of discussion, a decalogue of good practices when it comes to technological uses 4. To allow participants from an urban context to reconnect with the surrounding environment, with nature, and with themselves 5. To present a vital alternative more harmonious with the planet and nature, that can provide tools to face the problems that the society in which we are immersed has, while still maintaining good mental health and an emotional balance 6. To enhance knowledge about different artistic and body expression, manual works, and mental health preservation techniques (meditation, musical therapy...) 7. To enhance knowledge about nature and the environment 8. To develop cooperation and teamwork skills 9. To promote self-awareness and soft-skills learning Futhermore, it had the following links with the specific Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Objectives: - to increase self-empowerment, the development of self-esteem and to give participants tools to maintaining this self-grow process; - the dissemination of healthier lifestyles both mentally and physically; - developing more sustainable ways of living, in harmony with the planet, the nature around us, but also with ourselves, thus aiming at a holistic concept of healthy living in all senses; - enhancing, also through a healthier general wellbeing, a committed citizen of our society, and lead to more respectful and harmonious ways of living; -to increase participants’ self-empowerment and self-esteem and to give participants tools to maintain this self-grow.
