Objectives

"Extremely Together Against Extremism" is a youth exchange between young people from 5 different countries of the European Union and Neighboring Partner countries which was realized by a group of young active people in Bonn, Germany. By implementing the "EXIT" project, we aimed to foster unity, mutual understanding, and collaboration among young people from diverse backgrounds. By bringing together youth from different countries, the project sought to address and combat the pressing issues of extremism, racism, and discrimination. Specifically, we aimed to: -Raise Awareness of Extremism by educating participants about the various forms and root causes of extremism, including political, religious, and ideological extremism, and highlighting the dangers and impacts of extremist ideologies on individuals and communities. - Combat Racism and Discrimination by addressing and challenging stereotypes, prejudices, and discriminatory behaviors as well as promoting inclusivity and equality, encouraging participants to stand against racism in their communities. -Empower Youth to Take Action by equipping participants with the skills, knowledge, and tools to actively combat extremism and discrimination in their own countries. Encouraging leadership and activism among youth, fostering a sense of responsibility and community engagement. - Promote Intercultural Dialogue and Understanding by facilitating meaningful interactions and exchanges among participants from diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds and encouraging young people to share their experiences and perspectives, fostering empathy and mutual respect. -Strengthen European and International Solidarity by building networks of young leaders committed to promoting peace and understanding across borders and encouraging collaboration and solidarity among youth from different countries, reinforcing the idea of a united front against extremism. -Foster Sustainable Peacebuilding efforts by encouraging long-term initiatives and projects that continue the work of preventing extremism and promoting tolerance and support participants in developing action plans and initiatives that they can implement in their local communities. -Develop Knowledge of the Erasmus+ Programme by educating participants about the Erasmus+ programme and how it can be leveraged to promote tolerance and anti-discrimination. - Facilitate the development of new initiatives and projects that promote intercultural dialogue among different cultures and communities in Europe. By encouraging collaborative project development, we aimed to ensure sustainable efforts and ongoing initiatives that support intercultural dialogue and understanding. The primary goal of the project aligned with the key objectives of Erasmus+ Key Action 1 and reflects a fundamental principle of European societies. The project aimed to bring together young people from diverse backgrounds and create an environment where they can collaborate effectively within a multicultural context. In this setting, participants not only enhance their communication skills and knowledge but also develop a deep appreciation for various cultures. The project offered ample opportunities for cultural dialogues through interpersonal interactions and leisure activities. These exchanges enabled participants to share their experiences related to cultural distinctions, commonalities, active citizenship, democracy, civil society, participatory engagement, and volunteerism. The concrete objectives of our Youth Exchange were as follows: - To discuss the concept of intercultural learning and how young people can avoid creating more stereotypes; - To learn about cultural diversity in different parts of Europe and exchange ideas on intercultural society; - To develop a shared understanding of the concept of intercultural learning and multiculturalism; - To debate how Intercultural Learning can be used as a tool to fight radicalization; - To develop a good working knowledge of the Erasmus+ program and how young people can use it to promote tolerance and anti-discrimination; - To develop new projects promoting intercultural dialogue among different European cultures and communities.
