Objectives

We addressed specifically the need for mobility of youth with fewer opportunities by encouraging and empowering these individuals to travel individually and participate actively in mobility projects, volunteering and studying abroad opportunities. As a result, these individuals are becoming active citizens in society. We aimed to empower these young participants to improve their personal and professional competences, to take more initiatives, boost their self-esteem and become pro-active citizens. We achieved this through setting a frame where participants experienced, reflected and improved their personal and intercultural competences with a focus on intercultural understanding and tolerance. Our main goals included: - Expanding youth mobility: Our main aim was to raise awareness about the various opportunities available abroad, such as work, volunteering, training, and both formal and non-formal education. We sought to encourage individual travel and enhance participants' capacity to engage in these activities. This included motivating them to develop the necessary skills and attitude to independently organise and participate in such programs, ultimately promoting social inclusion for those with fewer opportunities. - Developing social, individual, and civic competence: We placed a strong emphasis on nurturing interpersonal skills and strengthening the sense of social responsibility among young individuals. This was aimed at empowering them to become more active citizens, not only at the local and regional levels but also on a national, European, and global scale. - Developing cultural awareness and tolerance: Increasing awareness of one's own cultural background and that of others was a key aspect of our mission. Our objective was to prevent racism, xenophobia, and related forms of intolerance among the youth, promoting a more inclusive and understanding society. In addition to these primary objectives, we pursued six sub-objectives: - Supporting skill acquisition: We provided support to participants in acquiring new knowledge, skills, and competences, thereby enriching their personal and professional growth. - Professional development: We enhanced the professional growth of individuals working in education, training, and youth sectors, especially group leaders, organisers, and partnering organisations. - Enhancing language proficiency: A key sub-objective was to notably improve the foreign language competence of our participants, which is invaluable in an increasingly interconnected world. - Strengthening organisational capacity: We worked to increase the capacities and capabilities of the organisations involved, enabling them to better serve the needs of young individuals. - Recognizing competencies gained abroad: We sought to ensure that the competencies acquired during learning periods abroad were better recognized and valued, contributing to the personal and professional growth of participants. - Motivating future participation in education and training: Our ultimate goal was to ignite a heightened motivation among participants to engage in future formal and non-formal education or training, furthering their lifelong learning journeys.
