Objectives

The aim of the project was to give artistically active young people from Poland (with Belarusian roots), Ukraine, Serbia and Germany the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people, learn from each other and from experienced artists. The aim was to address the question of how far artists can contribute to a more cosmopolitan, tolerant, free and just world with their art. It was about encouraging young people to find their own way and to go further. The Belarusian and Ukrainian participants in particular were and still are in a very precarious situation. Almost all of them are currently living outside their country. This international youth exchange also aimed to provide the participants with a few carefree, motivating and inspiring days. The aim was to deal with the topic of freedom together and to create art on this topic and then exhibit it together. The aim of the joint exhibition was (and still is online) to encourage as many people as possible to engage with the important topic of freedom, including in relation to their own lives, attitudes and options for action. During the youth exchange, including the preparation and follow-up activities, the aim was to acquire a wide range of skills, for example in the areas of teamwork, project work, social media and intercultural communication.
