Objectives

There are people with autism, down syndrome and other disabilities in every country. Yet people still do not know what these are and why they happen. Autism is a condition that begins before the age of three and goes on for life. It prevents the brain from developing; harms social interactions and relations also, it causes limited and repeating behavior. According to the data from USA Center for Disease Control and Prevention, autism is seen in one in 68 births. It is believed that one percent of human population has autism. The percentages in the attending countries are: Italy ‘0.53 percent’ Turkey ‘0.68 percent’Netherland ‘1.1 percent’ Germany ‘1.4 Hungary’ ‘0.58 percent’. With the right approach to these young people, extraordinary talents such as Newton, Einstein, Mozart, Tesla, Edison, Kafka, Nietzche, Beethoven, Van Gogh. And these young people could be reintroduced to society. Many individuals with autism are very talented in the areas of: graphic designing, computer, photoghraphy, industrial design, math, computer programming, and software engineering. Even though action plans are put in place in Europe, these are not enough to solve the problems of these young people. These young people being a part of the productivity in their countries will lift a weight off on those community’s shoulders, materially and nonmaterially. Down’s syndrome is a condition that occurs when, as a result of wrong segmentation, an extra chromosom remaining at the 21th chromosome. It is seen in one newborn out of 800, on average. There are 6 million individuals with Down syndrome worldwide. It is believed that there are 70.000 individuals with Down syndrome in Germany. These individuals who were once told that they were unable to study, are now able to finish highschool, college, they can learn second languages. Autistic people can work and live an independent or co-dependent life. It is seen that if supported, these individuals can gain the necessary social abilities to become independent. Thus they can gain confidence, they can fully adapt to being a part of society. People with disabilities can face discrimination and limitations in many areas in their life when it is asserted that their bodies are sensually, functionally, mentally and spiritually different. The biggest problem that people with disabilities are facing, is the society’s approach to them. According to the data from OECD, 15 percent of the world’s population is people with disabilities, which means there are one billion disabled people worldwide. When we determine the difficulties that these individuals are facing and their special needs are provided, their adaptation to society will be easier. It is our moral responsibility to take of the obsticles on their way of joining society, and provide the sources and proficiency so that they can reveal their potential. Therefore, the general aim of the project, breaking the predujice about young individuals with autism, Down Syndrome as well as other disabilities; and improving young adults’ abilities in the way of solving these people’s problems.
