The project "Improspective" was initiated to train youth workers in adapting to the constantly changing realities of their work. It aimed to address the developments in modern Europe, where diversity and the convergence of youth from various social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds have become the norm due to migration and refugee movements. Youth workers are called upon to adjust to the demands of a diverse work environment and be flexible in addressing different needs. The need to change and adapt old patterns is growing steadily in the face of rapid societal changes. Youth work plays a crucial role in laying the foundation for this, not only because young people are the adults of the future but also because they reflect the societal issues and their transformations. Developing mindfulness and improvisational skills in professionals is deemed essential to enable them to adapt to the rapidly changing work reality andthereby maintain or enhance the quality of work with diverse youth groups. The training was aligned with the following core objectives: Developing improvisational skills to better respond to unpredictable situations in educational work. Introducing innovative and interactive methods in youth work. Stimulating exchange among participants about methods already applied. Training participants to independently design, lead, and follow up on informal learning environments. Recognizing challenges and opportunities associated with the application of informal and non-formal improvisation practices in working with marginalized youth and diverse groups. Encouraging participants to integrate the principles of improvisation into their daily personal practices and become active shapers of their reality and society. Developing networks and expanding existing networks between the participating organizations as a basis for future collaborations. The prerequisite for conveying the core objectives was creating a stimulating, inviting atmosphere where participants felt safe and supported. Only in such an environment could they approach the topic of improvisation with openness and sensitivity, thoroughly exploring and internalizing the potentials of improvisation in working with youth. The focus of the project was on developing improvisational skills that enable a sustainable response to the described circumstances in youth work. Additionally, creativity and adaptability were cultivated to make it easier for participants to respond imaginatively to the needs of their target audience. This involved training active listening, deepening acceptance of diversity, and introducing innovative methods from youth work.
