Objectives

By implementing the Green Youth Worker 4.0 project, we aimed to address the growing need for digital skills among youth workers in the environmental field, especially in the context of challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic highlighted the critical importance of digital tools and competencies to ensure the continuity of work, education, and social interaction. Our primary goal was to strengthen the institutional capacities of NGOs working in environmental sustainability by equipping youth workers with the skills and tools needed to adapt to digital transformations and create lasting change in their communities. The objectives of our project were: - To teach around 40 youth workers from 6 countries the basic skills necessary to use digital tools effectively in their work. - To raise awareness about the influence of digitalization on youth work, young people, and its role in shaping societies. - To share and exchange best practices on the use of digital tools in youth work across the EU. - To develop at least 6 online non-formal education workshop activities specifically designed for youth work in the environmental field. - To create the Green Youth Worker 4.0 Guide as a practical resource for youth workers. - To establish the “greenyouthworker.org” platform for sharing open-source project content and fostering sustainable connections in digital competencies. - To promote cultural awareness, tolerance, and European Citizenship among youth workers while encouraging collaborative ideas and practices. Through these objectives, the project sought to empower youth workers with the necessary tools and knowledge to address global challenges such as climate change while enhancing their digital competencies, fostering collaboration, and creating a sustainable impact in their communities.
