With the implementation of the project we wanted to achieve the following objectives: - To support awareness raising of young people in transitioning towards green economy; - Improve necessary skills and competences of young people in order to support their own green jobs career; - Improve necessary skills and competences of YECs, VETs, TVETs and HEIs in order to support young people’s green jobs career readiness process; - To support main target groups in order to become a successful green economy requires the consistent needs of existing green jobs across the EU. - equip young people to become active, responsible and engaged citizens.
The project team applied for this project for these reasons: In accordance with the OECD findings, the career ambitions of young people are narrow, confused and distorted by social background. Since career readiness is a shared responsibility, there is an urgent need for standardized understanding of green jobs career readiness both for young people and YECs, VETs, TVETs, HEIs and other related stakeholders. In addition, climate change and environmental degradation have been recognized as global drivers of change. Moving towards a greener economy is creating opportunities for the introduction of new clean technologies, green investments and jobs. Needs addressed by the team: Standardization of knowledge on green skills response strategies for job career readiness of young people in partner institutions. Alignment of policies and tools for training young people in educational areas and training centers. Lack of awareness and motivations for job career readiness in the target group The existing courses of YECs, VETs, TVETs and HEIs ddon't consider the green economy’s generic skills and new methodologies connected to the job market in the green economy. The project aimed to equip students with the skills to become active citizens.
