Skive College aims to stimulate students' desire and ability to engage in international relations and to promote their understanding of the cultural uniqueness of other countries. Additionally, we aim to enhance students' personal and academic skills by, for example, training their language abilities through stays in Germany and speaking German. Furthermore, we seek to strengthen their collaborative relationships by working with students who share their type but have different backgrounds. We aim to promote these objectives as our students will become part of an increasingly international environment upon leaving school. Here, they will need to engage in relationships with people from many different nationalities. Therefore, it is important for students to develop an understanding and tolerance for various cultures and ultimately see diversity as a strength.
Skive College, the HHX department, has had a longstanding collaboration with Kaufmännische Schulen Tecklenburger Landes des Kreises Steinfurt, where students from both schools have visited each other's institutions. The purpose of this collaboration is to prepare our students to enter an increasingly international work environment once they have completed their education. Skive College is a merger of Skive Business School and Skive Technical School, located in the city of Skive. Our institution is situated in what is often referred to as rural Denmark, where many of our students come from backgrounds where education is not a traditional part of the family's history, and where the idea of traveling as part of one's education is unfamiliar. Students at the Business Gymnasium are typically between 15 and 20 years old. They can enroll directly after 9th or 10th grade in primary school or after attending a boarding school. Skive College is working on developing its international collaboration with the ambition that all students at the school should have the opportunity to spend part of their education abroad.
